SightsHey, these photos are fun, nifty, informative, rare and [insert adjective here]. We also threw in a Quicktime video and neat little insider information just because we were in the mood.
We'll change these images periodically, to keep all our loyal viewers stimulated. Stimulation is good.
So isn't it worth the relatively short download time?Note: Selecting an image will show you a larger version of that same image, just so you can actually see it!

Green & Checkers
When Richard asked Danny to do the cover for the debut album, his only requirements were that the spine needed to be yellow and black stripes, and it had to have photos of the band on the cover.
So, in his usual fashion, Danny took these wishes and made them many times more complicated than they should have been.
This was the result - a melding of the people involved with the spirit and texture of the music itself. A part of the whole.
Come to my rug
Image: Danny Evarts (with Dannie Fuller)
Contrary to the belief of perplexed manufacturers and distributors, this isn't the title of the Green & Checkers album. It's self-titled.
This is the back of the CD booklet, though.
Culled from a crayon drawing done by Dannie Fuller as a small child, it begged to be used. One side of the lined notebook paper showed a multi-colored, oval rug. On the reverse, each letter pasted individually, were the words.
Happily, Dannie hasn't really changed all that much.
Richard's Left Testacle
Image: Danny Evarts & Tommy Davis
It's not really his testacle, he got to keep that. Besides, it's the wrong shape.
We just thought we'd let you know why this image keeps popping up around here. It's the picture on the CD itself.
The actual genius behind this picture was Tommy Davis. Danny was having a hell of a time getting a square version of this to look like he wanted it to. Tommy pushed Danny away, made a simple adjustment, and voilá! We thank him for it.
Food for Thought
Photo: Richard Oliver
"The members of Green & Checkers believe in healthy eating habits. So, for breakfast each morning, we all sit down together and partake of this lovely dish.
We like to think of it as a way to bond."
Quick! Run!! Your House is on Fire!!!
Image: Danny Evarts
"My young child sang to me,
'I have a house of green and checkers
and my house is on fire, and checkers is dead'"
This image lines the CD booklet. Why? Because it fits. The lyrical content, the mood of the music, and it just... fits.
The little butterfly on the bottom right has a history of its own, popping up in the most unexpected of places (Take a look at the comic "Sandman" Issue #54 Pg 22).
Richard on the Outside
Photo: Dannie Fuller
It may seem like, since Richard's been on the "outside" most of his life, this photo captures his natural state.
Actually, though, what's captured here is a moment of quiet, about as quiet as it can get amongst the hulabaloo of the Manhattan life which inspires much of the music of Green & Checkers.
