Thirty Things I Hate (About Being Gay)
A General List in No Particular Order by Tuber
from Issue #1
  1. Gay phone sex ads in every gay newspaper.
  2. Bisexuality confuses me.
  3. The Village People
  4. In Living Color's "Men on Film".
  5. Working in Springfield.
  6. Repressed homosexuals. Let's face it, they're bad.
  7. Gee, I don't know, the OCA maybe. Although, the OCA did help me become more vocal. Thanks OCA. XXXOOO
  8. The world's loudest gay "spokespersons" tend to be the most stereotypical, just look at Liberace or Elton John for Christ's sake.
  9. People don't know why the numerous "well-meaning" - 'Straight But Not Narrow' buttons disturb me. If you don't know, figure it out.
  10. Homosexuals are not allowed to "get angry," because that is doing just what "they" are. Fuck that noise.
  11. Coming out to friends and family is stressful and generally a big pain in the ass.
  12. Gay people cannot even be recognized in the eyes of the government as having a relationship of love, marriage.
  13. Breeders make fun of gay men by talking with high voices and lisps while limping their wrists. They're not funny, they just look stupid. Simple minds, simple pleasures.
  14. The integration of people of color with people in power has theoretically been slowly accepted, yet the integration of homosexuals into the military is not reaching favorable light. Hmmm, gay men are not allowed to join the elite scum club of the basest men in our country's slaughter force, maybe I shouldn't care. I'm a little biased against the military in case you can't tell.
  15. Homosexuals are worked into TV plots and AIDS is also somehow worked in, when the mention of AIDS is not a prerequisite for heterosexual characters. In one Murphy Brown episode, my mouth was soured when a reasonably good non-stereotypical gay man uselessly recited the line, "...not when you've been attending as many funerals as I have lately."
  16. I hate being associated with a disease.
  17. Lesbians are never worked into a media plot unless they are sleazy villains. This is probably because breeders get off on looking at naughty lesbians and lesbians are not a threat probably because they are the lowest risk group for AIDS.
  18. Gayness is not accepted to a degree that a dating scene in high school, like that of heterosexuals, is basically impossible. Gay people miss out on the naive early dating period, making later relationship experiences awkward and inexperienced.
  19. It is very hard for an isolated gay person to meet other gay people for relationships or dating without visiting an establishment that somehow suggests immediate sex. Thus sex becomes a co-dependent of gay dating. This is avoidable, but when you're lonely, who cares.
  20. Breeder men are irrationally afraid of some of the treatment they give women being turned onto them by gay men (i.e. objectification, sexual harrasment, etc.)
  21. Fear of gay bashing.
  22. People who say fag in a derogatory fashion.
  23. Bad gay literature.
  24. Militant homophobics.
  25. The untrue connnection made between homosexuality and child molestation. That would make half the Christian right homosexuals.
  26. Dating pool = 5 percent.
  27. Gay support groups that talk about being gay to no end. So we're gay and you're gay and he's gay we're all gay. Let's bask in our gayness.
  28. Madonna.
  29. Arsenio Hall.
  30. Being associated with actors that use gerbils.
